SCMD, Richards + Stark Marketing Communication
ChrisAnn Richards is
the principal owner of Richards + Stark Marketing Communication,
a consulting firm established in
April 1997, specializing in public relations, tourism,
retail marketing, and sponsorship development for some
of the
nation’s premier destinations.
Biography
Richards’s professional
credentials include 23 years of senior-level marketing
in the shopping center and tourist
attraction industries. Prior to establishing Richards
+ Stark, ChrisAnn was the director of marketing for Ontario
Mills.
She grand opened the 1.7 million square foot super-regional,
value-oriented mall and entertainment center in November
1996. The grand opening generated over 3.5 million dollars
in publicity for a total of 357 media placements. Over
150,000 shoppers visited the center the first day of opening.
Richards marketing background
also includes positions as regional marketing manager
for Chelsea GCA Realty, Inc.
where she oversaw marketing for two of the most successful
outlet centers in the country - Desert Hills Premium Outlets
and Camarillo Premium Outlets - and developed the corporate
destination marketing program targeted to tourists. She
was a seven-year principal owner in an Indianapolis-based
marketing and public relations firm, and held positions
as
director of marketing and public relations for the Indianapolis
architecture firm Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf, Inc.
She
began her marketing career in 1980 as an exhibit manager
and worked as a mall marketing director with shopping
center
developer Simon.
Since establishing her
own company, she has won prestigious accounts with; Beverly
Center (The Taubman Company)
in West Los Angeles; Craig Realty Group in Newport Beach,
working their premier properties – Cabazon Outlets,
Citadel
Outlets, and Outlets at Anthem. She has also spearheaded
several notable events such as the award winning “Craiger’s
Annual Shopping Extravaganza”, Irvine Spectrum Center’s
1998 Hospitality Event, “A Cause to Shop”
for Hollywood &
Highland’s grand opening day, and the grand opening
of the California Welcome Center Los Angeles at Beverly
Center.
Other special projects include the Inland Empire Tourism
Council CD-ROM, the award winning “Go West Outlet
Shopping” travel planner, web site and advertising
campaign, and the education seminar for Le Creuset of
America, Inc.
stores titled “Public Relations and Event Planning.”
A 1980 Ball State University
graduate, ChrisAnn earned her bachelor’s degree
in journalism and marketing. Since 1984,
she has held the Certified Marketing Director designation
from the International Council of Shopping Centers and
received Senior-level status in 1999.

Harriet Jones is a marketing,
advertising and public relations consultant with more
than 25 years of experience in all
areas of retail marketing and communication arts.
Her experience includes
the development and implementation of shopping center
marketing plans, effective creative
concepts, copywriting, trade show management, event production,
corporate marketing and creative direction.
Recent clients include, or have included, GMS Realty,
LLC, Hopkins Real Estate Group, The Woloson Company, Bend
Properties, Watt Development, The Irvine Company, Donahue
Schriber, Chelsea GCA, Trammell Crow, Two Rodeo
Drive, Coreland Companies, Sumitomo Realty & Development,

Prior to her career as
a marketing and advertising consultant, Jones was director
of marketing for Donahue Schriber in
Newport Beach, California. She was also a marketing manager
for Hughes, director of marketing for the Orange County
Register’s community newspaper division, senior
account representative in the Los Angeles Times, Orange
County
electronic publishing division, and copywriter for Dayton
Hudson’s in Minneapolis. She has a Bachelor of Science
degree in education, and a Master’s degree in journalism
from the University of Colorado.
